A couple in the Scottish Borders have struggled to find a nanny that will stay in their ‘haunted’ home.
With a $64,000 a year paycheck and the chance to live inside a luxurious and historic Scottish country mansion, the job might seem ideal for anyone looking to earn a living as a live-in nanny.
Bizarrely however, the couple who own the building have been struggling to find a nanny who will stay the course due to the amount of paranormal activity that has been occurring there.
“We have lived in our home for nearly 10 years,” the couple wrote. “We were told it was ‘haunted’ when we bought it, but kept our minds open and decided to buy the house regardless.”
“Five nannies have left the role in the last year, each citing supernatural incidents as the reason, including strange noises, broken glass and furniture moving.”
Despite these setbacks however the pair are still hoping to find someone who will stay.
“We haven’t personally experienced any supernatural happenings, as they have been reported only while we’ve been out of the house, but we’re happy to pay above the asking rate, and feel it’s important to be as up-front as possible to find the right person,” they wrote.
