Black Star Update Report February 08, 2018 Year-over-year weekly seismic-event values for Week 51 show only one 7-magnitude earthquake event in the last four years (7.9 Papua, New Guinea in 2016: USGS), which was the final big-quake event for the 2016 orbit cycle that saw 7-mag quake events for Week 44, 45, 47, 49 and 51. Four of the 6-magnitude earthquake events for the 7-day reporting period matches the four moderately-sized quake events for Week 51 of the 2015 Earth orbit cycle. The 2017 seismic pattern, nearing the end of the orbit cycle, is following the 2015 pattern very closely for Week 51 with slightly higher weekly-event-value totals for the 5-mag and 2.5 to 4-magnitude earthquake events.
