Wormwood and the Battle of Armageddon

Nowadays just about everything has been vastly upgraded, including Bible knowledge. There are those who say the science and physics books should all be rewritten along with a vast upgrade to our present knowledge of astronomy and that goes for the Bible too.

Even students construct perpetual motion machines as a science project now that science has discovered dark matter and dark energy.

As for Bible knowledge, people have long trusted the so-called “Church Fathers,” but the discoveries of Martin Luther, circa A.D. 1517, demonstrated the fact that none of them even knew how to get saved as they all believed in works for salvation instead of salvation by grace through faith.

Isn’t it strange how the gospel of salvation by grace through faith was hidden for some 1500 years? Some 300 years later, John Darby recovered even more lost Bible truth, with Sir Robert Anderson, Rev. Clarence Larkin, Dr. E. W. Bullinger of “Companion Bible” fame, Pastor J. C. O’hair of the NorthShoreChurch in Chicago, Illinois, Pastor C. R. Stam of the Berean Bible Society adding even more.

Recent discoveries reveal that even the works of these foremost pioneers are outdated as new information keeps coming in. A new website reveals some of this new information as follows: http://www.endtimeinsights.org/

Don’t expect the information on that website to conform to traditional dogma because it won’t, as the reader will discover in our discussion of the present subject of “Wormwood and the Battle of Armageddon.” So far, the batting average of those who’ve engaged in wild speculation is Zero. It’s not because they didn’t sincerely try to do the right thing, but they lacked sufficient knowledge.

The popular view of the Church today is that there will be a rapture, which will end this special period when salvation by grace through faith alone is in force, and fulfillment of end time prophecy will commence, when salvation by faith plus works will be back in effect. The rapture story is true for the most part, except the Church today will depart to be with Christ Jesus in a far better scenario to return back to our Home within the Eternal Body of Christ Jesus, into the Secret Place of the Most High, where we started before the foundation of the world.

Ephesians 1:1-4, “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: (2) Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. (3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”

By the way, nothing existed before the foundation of the world except the Godhead – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – in and endless expanse of Infinite Power, Life, Love and every other divine attribute of Almighty God! It’s important to understand that members of the Church today were actually chosen “In Christ Jesus” – as Member/Cells of His Endless/Eternal Body. It may help our understanding here to remember that God is timeless and that His placing us in His Son’s Body before the foundation of the world is the same as doing it today!

After departure of the Church today, end time prophecy will be fulfilled as per the 70th week of Daniel, which will be a Heptade, or week of 7 years instead of 7 days. The first half of that week will be a time of relative peace and safety due to the restored, real Israel’s confirming the peace treaty with the “Beast”. Daniel 9:27, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

That peace treaty, which God calls an “Agreement with Hell*” was already signed once with Alexander the Great when he passed through Jerusalem on his way to conquer the Medo Persian Empire. Israel’s High Priest went out to the gate of the city of Jerusalem and showed Alexander God’s prophecy concerning him and signed a peace treaty, which saved the city and the nation as Alexander passed them up.
*Isaiah 28:18, “And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.”

Note: Babylon, Medo Persia, Greece and Rome are each heads of the “Beast” and are interchangeable in Scripture. Therefore, the “Beast” can be any of the following: Alexander the Great of Greece, the “Assyrian” of Isaiah 10:5-15, Antiochus Epiphanes as the “King of the North” in Daniel 11:13, and the “Prince that shall come” or Roman Emperor [probably Nero] of Daniel 9:26-27, “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

As the reader might know, Jesus Christ spoke of the “Abomination of Desolation” in Matthew 24:15, “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)” and the Apostle Paul likewise in 2 Thessalonians 2:4, “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

Read Daniel chapter 8 to learn how God will restore the kingdom’s of Babylon, Medo Persia, Greece and Rome back on earth to refight their battles all over again in fulfillment of end time prophecy, which will account for the “Wars and rumors of wars” in Matthew 24:6

Note: knowing ahead of time that man would goof it up, God had the Angel Gabriel to interpret Daniel chapter 8, and yet man still gets it wrong!

Surprised? Don’t be, because it gets even better when we learn that the 12 Apostles will also be back to experience fulfillment of end time prophecy. Notice how Jesus Christ addresses the disciples who asked Him the question about the end time in Matthew 24:3, as He includes THEM in His prophecy of the end time in the remaining verses of Matthew chapter 24.

By the way, the judgments Jesus Christ mentions in Matthew 24:4-8 correspond to the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse in Revelation 6:1-8 and to Ezekiel 14:21, “For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?”

Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

Note: as we can see, the “Judgment/s” after death will be the Great Tribulation along with the Wrath of God which will immediately follow.

Matthew 24:29-31, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: (30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

So, where does Wormwood and the Battle of Armageddon fit in? Revelation 12:17, “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 13:7, “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” Daniel 7:21-22, “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; (22) Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”

Here we see that the Battle of Armageddon will commence toward the end of the period of the Great Tribulation. Toward the end of that battle, Jesus Christ will appear in Great Glory, in the air over the City of Jerusalem as He will fulfill His role as the Jewish Messiah and conquer the Beast’s [Nero’s Roman] Army.

They will stand in battle array in the Valley of Megiddo until they see what’s in store for them, then they will run like scared rats and beg the mountains and rocks to fall on them and hide them as follows: Revelation 6:16-17, “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: (17) For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

Matthew 24:29-31 shows us the signs of the sun, moon and stars which will occur immediately after the Great Tribulation which fits into Revelation 6:12-17 perfectly, which tells us that the chronology of the latter is the same as the former, to wit – the Second Advent of Jesus Christ! And, we also see that the era of God’s Wrath will occur “Immediately after” the Great Tribulation.

On the very day of Jesus Christ’s return, God’s Wrath will begin! It will include the plagues of the 7 trumpets – the 3rd one of which is Wormwood – which will be God’s Wrath on behalf of His Saints, which will be restricted to only one third [33%] of His total Wrath – whereas the plagues of the 7 vials will account for the remainder – which will be God’s Wrath on behalf of Himself!

As we humans live on earth today, we can’t see or physically fight evil spirits; however, their every deed is being recorded, along with our prayers, and we will be given the right to take vengeance upon them in the end time – with the order of the 7 trumpets.

We can see that Wormwood will fall as a great star from heaven in Revelation 8:10-11, “And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; (11) And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.”

Therefore, we see that “Wormwood” will fall from heaven on the last day of the Great Tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon – at the Second Advent of Jesus Christ, which will begin the 150 day period of the Wrath of God!

By the way, the reason we see the “… chief captains, and the mighty men…”, of Revelation 6:15 running like scared rats, and 19:18 having their flesh eaten is because of the following events which will occur on the Day of the Lord:

A category 10 or better hurricane able to produce 100 pound hailstones, a great earthquake which will destroy all mountains and islands, a wall of fire surrounding Jesus Christ’s heavenly Army [Revelation 9:17, “And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.” Cf. Joel 2:1-11], all water turned to blood, ice, stinging locusts, thunderings, lightning, black clouds of smoke, scorching heat from the sun, gruesome sores, excruciating darkness, being eaten by angels, etc.

Perhaps the worst thing will be that evil creatures living on earth at that time will have no place to go, not even to hell, as they will not be able to die but their spirit bodies will be continually and painfully regenerated for 5 months before they go to further judgment.

Remember, all rebel Angels will be cast out of heaven in the war of Revelation 12:7-9, will lose their wings, and will take on bodies of flesh as men which will expose them to God’s Wrath!

Revelation 17:16, “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.” Note: “Mystery Babylon” of Revelation 17 consists of the rebel Angels who will have been cast out of heaven in Revelation 12:7-9! That’s why they have flesh that can be eaten and burned.

Therefore, we see that the vast majority of information given in the last Book of the Bible, the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, consists of descriptions of events which will all occur on the Day of the Lord.
