3 Victims Who Survived Las Vegas Massacre Die in Unrelated Incidents A Short Time After (UPDATED)

This is in no way meant to be insensitive but I could not help but think of the movie “Final Destination” after hearing about these tragedies. If you’re not familiar with the Final Destination movie franchise I’ll just give you the a very quick idea of what it is about. The original movie is about a group of teenagers heading out on a trip and one among them foresees their demise in a vision and so they alter their actions as to try and avoid the tragic outcome, which do do manage to alter, however, death does not want to be cheated and so the main premise of the movie is death finding a way to still kill each one that avoided being killed when they changed the outcome based on the vision.

I couldn’t help but think how sad that these two real life tragedies seems so much like that fiction, escaping certain death from the shooting spree only to die so soon after.

UPDATE: This has been updated to include another survivor who also died after that hadn’t been included in the article originally, so the number of people who survived the massacre and died shortly after from causes unrelated to the massacre is 4. The updated part is added at the end of the article. Apparently one or more of these individuals had claimed to have seen multiple shooters.

Here is the first case:

via Las Vegas Review-Journal;

The Las Vegas man found dead in a vacant home in the northeastern valley has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Police said 35-year-old Danny Contreras was found dead at 7:05 a.m. Monday. A woman who thought she heard a man groaning had called 911 requesting a welfare check on the 5800 block of East Carey Avenue, near North Nellis Boulevard.

Contreras died of multiple gunshot wounds, and the coroner ruled his death a homicide.

Based on Contreras’ tattoos, Metropolitan Police Department homicide Lt. Dan McGrath said it is possible he had gang ties. But McGrath said the initial investigation showed that the killing likely was related to narcotics rather than gang activity.

Residents on the street described the northeast Las Vegas home as a “problem place with possible drug activity in and out of the home,” McGrath said.

There were no witnesses to the shooting. Neighbors said they did not hear any gunshots, but told detectives that they had heard arguing and a dog barking.

The death was the 207th homicide in the county this year, and the 184th investigated by Metro. Those numbers include the 58 shooting deaths during the Oct. 1 attack on the Strip.

Anyone with information about Monday’s homicide may call Metro at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.

Here is the second case:

via NY Post:

A couple who survived the massacre at the Las Vegas music festival were killed in a fiery traffic accident two weeks later, according to a report.

Dennis and Lorraine Carver of California died when their vehicle smashed into a metal gate outside their community in Riverside County and burst into flames Oct. 16, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

When they came under fire at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Vegas on Oct. 1, Dennis jumped on top of his wife to shield her from the withering hail of bullets.

“That’s just the kind of love they had for each other,” Brooke Carver, their oldest daughter, told the paper. “Their love was selfless.”

During a lull in the gunfire, the couple ran for their lives, hand in hand, and emerged unscathed.

The couple, who owned a plumbing company, returned to their home two days later with a newfound appreciation for life.

“After the shooting, they heard from all of the people they cared about most. They were so happy,” said Brooke, 20. “The last two weeks of their lives were really just spent living in the moment.”

But luck was not with them for long.

On the night of Oct. 16, the couple’s younger daughter, Madison, 16, heard a loud bang outside her window, ran down the street and saw a familiar vehicle engulfed in flames.

Dennis, 52, and Lorraine, 53, were killed less than half a mile from their home.

“We were so relieved when they got out of the shooting alive,” Brooke told the Review-Journal. “But I also think we’ve been given little pieces of them that we would’ve never gotten if the shooting hadn’t happened right before they died.”

Three days after the worst mass shooting in US history, Brooke said she was on the phone with her dad. They asked about each other’s plans for the weekend.

“‘Hey, you think I should get roses or different flowers for your mom?’” she said he asked her — though there was no special occasion.

“He just wanted to give my mom a reason to smile after the shooting,” she said. “I swear they were more in love those two weeks than the last 20 years.”

Almost a month later, she said, not a single petal had fallen from the wilted roses.

“It’s almost as if they’re frozen in time,” her sister added. “We’re so lucky we have those flowers to remind us of them.”

A week after the devastating accident, the daughters received a package containing their father’s cellphone, which had been lost during the pandemonium in Vegas.

“When we turned it on, all his photos and messages were still there,” Brooke said. “This is how we know they’re looking down and watching over us.”

Madison added: “We’ve found some peace in knowing that our parents just loved each other so much that they had to go at the same time. They couldn’t live without each other.”

UPDATE: Here is the case of the 4th person as mentioned in the UPDATE at this top of the article:

via The Free Thought Project:

According to a report, 28-year-old Kymberley Suchomel died at her home in Apple Valley, California, just one week after the massacre. While the official cause of her death was not immediately released, her grandmother told the Victorville Daily Press that she appeared to have died in her sleep.

“Kymberley had epilepsy and she’s always been prone to seizures – she told her friend that she recently had three focal seizures,” Julie Norton said. “I believe the stress from the shooting took her life.”

The day after the shooting, Suchomel recounted the horrific details to the Daily Press. Although she miraculously escaped from the chaotic scene with no injuries, she said, “I might have escaped unharmed, but I know that I’ve been emotionally and mentally scarred for life.”

“I’m most definitely in a state of shock and it will take some time for me to get over this,” Suchomel said on Oct. 2.”I haven’t been able to sleep and I still keep hearing the sound of loud pops in my head.”

After she managed to flee from the scene of the shooting, Suchomel said she went back to the hotel where she was staying with friends, gathered her belongings and returned to her home as quickly as possible to see her husband, Mike, and her 3-year-old daughter, Scarlet.

Just days later, Suchomel’s grandmother arrived at her home to find her dead in her bed.

Editor’s Closing Comment:

With all of the theories out there, one can’t help but wonder if these surviving victim are being taken out on purpose to hide something, for example it is claimed that one or more of these deceased individuals claimed to have seen multiple shooters
