Bolivia Hit by Magnitude 6.8 Earthquake
Southern Bolivia (South America) was hit by a powerful earthquake Monday morning, however initial reports suggests limited damage and no serious injuries or deaths.
Buildings reportedly shook as far away as Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The 6.8 magnitude tremor struck about 8 miles north-northeast of Carandayti, Bolivia, at 9:40 a.m. EDT Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake had a depth of nearly 350 miles, and the epicenter was located about 52 miles from the town of Villamontes, which has a population of 19,000.
Following the earthquake, some in the area tweeted that they felt the temblor.

According to the Associated Press, the quake was not felt in Bolivia’s capital, La Paz, but buildings reportedly swayed as far away as Sao Paulo, where some people ran outside as the shaking began.
