Death & Reincarnation — Here’s Why We Shouldn’t Fear Them

Even though many people are afraid of death, the topic seems to be a taboo. The death is not being discussed as any other part of the human condition.

But death is an important subject. We may have become too busy to reflect on it or to register it, but we all know that death is a coming. And it comes to haunt us every now and then: when we feel meaninglessness or fail to find purpose to our lives.

But instead of contemplating on the subject, we avoid it by keeping ourselves busy. Mostly, it’s because we fear death.

Science, engineering, and technology have brought marvels. They have made life easier and graspable. But, most importantly, they have artificially sped up our lives and our experiences.

In doing so, they have unleashed so many possibilities and experiences, and now they are trying their best to aid us experience them within our lives.

It’s a reflection of our deep-seated fear of death, and the unknown that lies further of our death, and of our inability to experience how life will unfold when we are dead.

We have so many possibilities before us, and we are living through such dramatic progress and visions of a radically different future that we fear death, more than our ancestors.

In previous civilizations, people were at peace with death, as a stage in our journey through life.

Renaissance tore that peace, rationalized the concept of human self and spirit and sent us into the atomic understanding of the human condition.

We have never really come out of that cage of rationalism. Not yet. We’re in denial.

And it’s killing our experience of life and the possibilities of being in touch with our intuition and wisdom, as we continue to grow, learn and evolve.

Why You Should Not Fear Death

Epicurus, a Greek philosopher offered an argument about why we should not fear death. He argued that Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist.

His argument was against the anxiety created by thinking of the unknown, about thinking of something that you could not grasp or understand. However, he began with the premise that death does not concern us.

People usually want to know what becomes of us, our knowledge, wisdom, character and personality when we die. Is there something — anything — beyond death?

ccording to scientists and researchers who have studied the subject, the answer is YES.

And there is overwhelming evidence supporting reincarnation. Dr. Ian Stevenson and Dr. Michael Newton have dedicated their lives studying reincarnation, and approached the subject from two completely different directions.

Dr. Stevenson documented and analyzed from a pure scientific perspective, thousands of cases of children who spontaneously remembered a past life. The results are published in this book.

Dr. Newton is not only capable of regressing people into previous lives, but into the life between lives as well. He discovered this technique by mistake while he was practicing hypnotherapy within the mainstream boundaries of this science.

Well, me … I’m convinced that there’s much more to life than just a one-off visit in a skin & boned body.
It’s all about our consciousness – where it is and what it’s tuned into at a particular ‘time’

A couple of guys who spring to mind, and who helped me make a bit of sense out of it all would have to be Charles T. Tart and Robert Monroe.

Having had the beginning of a near death experience when I was just saved from drowning as a child; an out-of-body-experience in my late 20’s, as well as countless coincidental(?) premonition type dreams – I have to think ‘outside of the box’.

Now, I’m just looking forward to reaching ‘escape velocity’ – remembering and re-connecting with my ‘true self’ and getting out of the box. So to speak …….

      Hi mate

I have always believed in life after death and I believe that how we are and how we treat others will make a difference when we ascend to the after life. If we are bad we go to the bottom rung and have to come back to learn the lesson we were supposed to. If we do good we move up a tier closer to God and a better afterlife. If we are very bad we can get stuck in the middle for a very long time as punishment. Just a theory though.

I found that interesting “thefreak”. I don’t mean to say it this way but it sounds kind of cool or even exciting but given the circumstances (being near death)those words are probably not fitting.
My two cent aren’t deep or profound but I found they brought some comfort.

Not too long ago (sometime last year) I was reading a random article regarding relating to the same subject matter (deat and fear of deat etc..).

The one thing that stayed with me from the article I had read is this; The author said (and I’m paraphrasing) as he was getting older he was fearing and thinking about death more..later in the article he goes on to mention this simple thought; we all die every night when we go to sleep. He was referring to the fact that we are pretty much unconscious (though not technically).

He said we do it every night and aside fro the alertness of turning or other interruptions, we aren’t really here.

I don’t know how other feel about that but it made a lot of sense to me and while it’s kinda creepy, I find it to be very true.
