A step above the type of predictive algorithm used by health insurance companies, the new AI model, which was developed by researchers at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), was programmed using real data about the lives of 6 million Danish citizens. To determine how long someone might live, it looked for patterns in the data concerning everything from their education, occupation and income to any underlying health conditions they might have.
