Robot Given Task of Cracking Zodiac Killer Case Started Doing Something Very Disturbing

This is just a little creepy.

The task of breaking one of the hardest codes of all time left by the notorious Zodiac Killer was given to a ROBOT but it has begun to do something very bizarre and disturbing.

via Express UK:

The AI programme called CARMEL is trying to break one of the most perplexing cyphers in history left by one of the most infamous killers of all time.

It uses abstract symbols, code and cyphers sent by the serial killer to taunt the media and police.

But now it has begun to write strange, dark poetry about murder.

One reads: “Through the taxi and prison break, Alone and angry at a brutal murder, Surrounded by an artificial lake, Never a convicted murderer.”

CARMEL was created by AI and linguistics expert Keven Knight.

He gave the robot all the information currently available about the killer, including details of the alleged murders.

The killer wrote to newspapers and mocked local police.

One cypher sent by the killer is known as Z340 and has baffled some of the greatest minds in cryptology for nearly 50 years.

It still draws scrutiny because the killer claims the code contains their real name.

But now it is hoped AI could blow the five-decade case open.

Part of its programming allows it to create verse.

Another poem reads: “Surrounded by the troubled, by the thieving, Confused and bruised and poisoned by the master, Confused and blinded by the helpless scheming, Confused and blinded by the dreadful slander…”

The Zodiac killer was active in northern California in the 1960s.

While the maniac is officially connected to five murders the killer inferred there were at least 37 victims.

Despite the police investigating more than 2,500 suspects, to this day they are still stumped.

After taunting police and the public with nearly two dozen letters, the killer vanished in the late 1970s.

The killer inspired three real-life copycat killers as well as dozens of books, TV shows and movies.

Clint Eastwood’s nemesis in the 1971 film “Dirty Harry” was inspired by the zodiac killer.
