Ship Goes Missing in the Bermuda Triangle
Another victim of the Bermuda Triangle ?
A ship carrying 20 passengers has disappeared without a trace despite an extensive search and rescue effort.
There are few mysteries as enduring and as well known as the Bermuda Triangle – an expanse of ocean in the North Atlantic that spans the area between Florida, Bermuda and Puerto Rico.
Over the years the region has become synonymous with the unexplained disappearances of ships and airplanes – often with no trace of them or their crews ever being found.
Now the same thing has happened again and everyone on-board is still missing.
The vessel, which left Bimini in the Bahamas on December 28th on a trip to Lake Worth, Florida, was reported missing after it failed to turn up at its destination, prompting a major coastguard search.
After covering a whopping 17,000 square miles over a period of 84 hours however, rescuers were forced to suspend their search having found no sign of the missing vessel.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the missing people,” said Capt. Stephen V. Burdian of the Seventh District.
“I encourage anyone with information about the people aboard to contact us as soon as possible.”
As things stand, the whereabouts of the boat and its crew continue to remain a total mystery.
