Earth We Are Alone

We Are Alone in Universe – Latest Research Says The Earth Shouldn’t Exist

How many planets are there in the observable universe? We are currently curious if we aren’t alone in the universe right? How would you respond to an article claiming that statistically, Earth shouldn’t really exist? What do you even plan to do with that kind of information?

An astrophysicist at the University of Uppsala may have the answer to this question. It’s sad that there aren’t any planets like Earth in any of them. If this turns out to be accurate, there’s no telling what kind of existential crisis there is waiting for the human race. We are all a product of a very unique planet in the whole Universe and why we were created unique is still quite a mystery.

The astrophysicist Erik Zackrisson has totally blown our mind. He and his team set up a computer simulation of the universe after the Big Bang, based on the most recent observations and statistical models. The result confirmed there is an estimated 700 quintillion planets out there. If your Latin needs work, that’s a 7 followed by twenty zeroes, or 7×10^20. And Earth shouldn’t be included in the counting.

Recently, scientists have been getting more and more convinced by the fact that there should be more Earthlike planets out there with every exoplanet that we discover. Considering that there are so many planets out there in the known universe, Earth has got to have some twins right? Well, apparently this isn’t the case, according to Discover Magazine.

According to Zackrisson, most planets in the universe shouldn’t really be similar to Earth. His latest model indicated that Earth’s existence presents a mild statistical anomaly in the vast majority of the planets. Most of the worlds predicted by his model exist in galaxies even larger than the Milky Way and they orbit stars with different compositions. An important factor in determining a planet’s characteristics is their orbit. His latest research concluded that, from a purely statistical standpoint, Earth perhaps shouldn’t really exist. So our dreams of Star Trek and Star Wars are now flushed down the drain.

Editor’s Comment: I’m not one to buy into such a definite finality of this conclusion/theory. Personally the way I view things is that the possibility will ALWAYS remain until it can be PROVEN otherwise.
