ISS Under Attack? Bizarre ‘UFO or Missile Filmed by International Space Station’
ONLINE conspiracy theorists have released a video of what they claim shows the International Space Station (ISS) under attack by a mysterious “UFO or missile”.
The extraordinary claim is made in footage released on YouTube by channel Pete WDHco.
The video, entitled “ISS Space Station Attacked or Attacks Missile or UFO Interesting Capture” claims to be recorded by the ISS’s own live-stream camera this month before being sent to it by Heather Ortiz from California.
In the video, which has been broadcast as a series of still images rather than moving footage, a dark cylindrical-shaped object appears to have passed closely above the Earth to a portion of the ISS that can be seen to the left of the frame.
In the next clip, it appears to have moved away from and in front of the ISS.
A later clip shows it further away still, and seemingly descending towards the planet.
The fourth and fifth still shots show it appearing even further away.
The video subtitles said: “The ISS live feed caught this object which is best described as a missile shape, either just missing the station or released by the station.
“Caught as it flew down and entered Earth. What is it? Any ideas?”
The video has led to a flurry of online speculation from conspiracy theorists.
Chuck Mcguire pondered if the ISS itself has been armed.
He said: “That has to be a test firing of a weapon from the station.
“Advanced races would be using plasma or energy-based weapons.”
Rich Guz posted on YouTube: “Wow its definitely man made and does resemble air to surface missiles.
“Hard to say if it was the station itself being attacked or if it was a weapon system separate from them.
“Needs some explaining. Great catch indeed.”
One poster was more specific alleging the Ronald Reagan proposed anti-nuclear defence program must have actually been carried out.
He wrote: “Kinetic non-nuclear atmosphere based weapons aka ‘Reagan Star Wars’ or space junk or some other remote control craft.”
Others speculated it was waste being ejected from the ISS or an escape pod.
There have been several claims of UFOs being caught on the live-stream near the ISS in recent months, but most have been explained away as reflections or lens flares.
NASA ill usually not comment on these claims due to the high number and fears of fuelling conspiracies.
However, it spoke out to dismiss them as lens flares following a rise in speculation.
It has yet to comment on this latest object which looks different in appearance to the previous reflection or lens flare UFOs.
