An experimental interactive robot known as Promobot IR77 has been up to quite a bit of mischief recently.

Designed to engage in meaningful interactions with humans, this cute little robot has a computer screen on its chest to show information and can even change its eyes to show love hearts.

Earlier this month the company who develops the robots had been testing out their latest model when an engineer left the building and forgot to shut the door – a mistake that would see the adventurous contraption attempt a daring escape out of the facility and down the street.

It managed to make it around 150ft in to the middle of a busy road before its power ran out which not only caused a traffic jam but also prompted a visit from the police.

The firm has since admitted that they may have to dispose of this particular model due to a bug which sees it constantly heading towards the exit, however a public outcry on social media asking them not to destroy it because it is “alive” has taken them completely by surprise.

A video of the robot stopping traffic outside the test facility can be viewed below.
